Keratectasia
Keratectasia is also sometimes known as kerectasia and as corneal ectasia.
(That this term concerns the cornea of the eye is indicated by the prefix "kerat-" which refers to the cornea of the eye).
Keratectasia is the abnormal bulging of the cornea of the eye at the site of scar tissue, which is thinner than normal corneal tissue.
Other definitions of keratectasia indicate that it is simply "a thinning and herniation of the cornea".
