Thyrotrophin-Releasing Hormone (TRH), is a human hormone from the hypothalamus (which is located in the brain), that acts on the anterior pituitary gland to stimulate the release of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH).

Thyrotrophin-Releasing Hormone is given by intravenous injection to investigate the function of the thyroid gland and also to estimate the quantity / reserves of thyroid stimulating hormone in the pituitary gland.
