Teres Major

The teres major muscles are a pair of muscles, one on each side of the body, located towards the back of the shoulder joint.

The teres major muscles can be studied in relation to the teres minor muscles, which are located above the teres major muscles.

Origin, Insertion and Actions of the Teres Major muscles:

Point of Origin:	Lower lateral border of the scapula (shoulder) bone
Point of Insertion:	Medial lip of bicipital groove of of the humerus (upper-arm) bone.
Actions:	Adducts the humerus bone Extends the humerus bone Inwardly rotates the the humerus bone
