Red Aventurine
|
Red aventurine is a naturally occurring gemstone that has a trigonal crystal structure, red aventurine being a form of quartz. Quartz is the common name for the crystal form of silicon dioxide whose chemical formula is SiO2.
Red aventurine differs from other forms of quartz because it includes other elements that subtly affect its structure and result in its predominately red or light maroon colour. Shades of red may vary according to the particular conditions in which any one sample was formed.
Red aventurine is sometimes associated with:
- the astrological sign of Aries
- creativity
- motivation
- leadership qualities
- balancing of intellectual, emotional and physical auric bodies
- the number 3.
