Natural Plates
Natural Plates are one of the many forms in which certain naturally occurring crystals, gemstones and minerals are found and extracted from the earth.
In these cases the crystalline structures have formed in arrangements in the plane of the underlying rock as a result of the chemicals present at the time of formation together with the physical conditions (e.g. of temperature and pressure) that applied at the time. In some cases, crystal plates have formed relatively slowly over very long periods of time whereas in other cases the process of crystalization occurred relatively quickly, e.g. as rocks and gases cooled.
