Cholangioma
A cholangioma is a rare type of tumour that originates from the bile duct.
It is not necessarily cancerous. Anyone receiving this diagnosis may wish to ask medical staff for more information about his or her particular case.
Compare the term cholangioma with the (similar) term cholangiocarcinoma, which is also a tumour of the bile ducts - but which refers specifically to a malignant tumour.
Terminology re. tumours:
- "malignant" => cancerous,
- "benign" => non-cancerous.
