Cancer

Cancer is the sign of the zodiac for those born during 22 June - 23 July.

People born during this time are said to have been 'born under the [astrological] sign of Cancer' and are sometimes referred to as 'Cancerians', although alternatively, many books and websites simply use phrases such as 'Cancer Man', 'Cancer Woman', 'Cancer Lover' etc. to refer to people born under the astrological sign of Cancer.

Cancer is one of the three "Water Signs", the other two being Pisces and Scorpio. It is referred to and depicted as the 'crab'. As there are many styles of illustration used to portray and represent astrological signs, the crab may be shown from any orientation and depicted as a crab of any or of no particular species. The simple black line symbol used here is a version of a widely used symbol for the astrological sign of Cancer.

They are active in achieving their goals and ambitions, are strong-willed, articulate, yet also emotionally sensitive. People born under the sign of Cancer can be highly resourceful and take indirect routes to achieving success when these are most appropriate. They are emotionally as well as intellectually aware and often adept at securing the participation of others and concealing their true ambitions until the ideal time or situation.

However, cancerians also have a tendency to wear their hearts on their sleeves, sometimes revealing more of their emotional situation than is in their best interests. They have a healthy respect for material wealth and the security it can provide.
