Aquarius is the sign of the zodiac for those born during 21 January - 19 February.
People born during this time are said to have been 'born under the [astrological] sign of Aquarius' and are sometimes referred to as 'Aquarians' . Alternatively, many books and websites simply use the phrases 'Aquarius Man', 'Aquarius Woman', 'Aquarius Lover' etc..
Aquarius is one of the three "Air Signs", the other two being Gemini and Libra. It is traditionally referred to and depicted as the 'water carrier' or 'water bearer'. The figure shown carrying or pouring water can be either male or female, there being many different styles of illustration used to portray and represent astrological signs. The simple black line symbol used here is a version of a widely used symbol for the astrological sign of Aquarius.
Aquarian characteristics are often said to include:
- Unwillingness to compromise
Aquarians generally enjoy many friends and acquaintances throughout their lives and are often more interested in people and relationships than they are in becoming materially wealthy or in the associated responsibilities.
However, they can also be stubborn and resistant to changes, especially small changes (major changes can be taken as a challenge and so receive a more positive response).
Aquarians can be highly independent thinkers, sometimes even rebels. They take an intellectual approach to many things and can be relentlessly optimistic despite their difficulty in compromising where their ideas, ideals, or independence are concerned.
Some people like to choose crystals and gemstones according to the astrological sign of the person they are for. For more about the gemstones for each sign, see Crystals & Gemstones for Signs of the Zodiac.
