What is Homeopathy ?
Homeopathy is one of the most established and respected non-conventional (i.e. not 'modern Western medicine') forms of treatment for physical, mental and emotional conditions. It is used in many locations around the world.
Homeopathy emerged towards the end of the 18th century, initially due to the work of German medical doctor, Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, of Meissen, Saxony (1755 - 1843).
Now known as the 'Father of Homeopathy', Samuel Hahnemann believed that the highest purpose of medicine was
" ... to restore health rapidly; gently; permanently; to remove and destroy the whole disease in the shortest, surest, least harmful way".
Books about homeopathy vary from beautifully illustrated books for the general reader to textbooks for students and practitioners of homeopathy. There are also many introductory-levels books about homeopathy for use in the home, for children, for pets, for day-to-day minor ailments and for some specific medical conditions.
