About the city of Leeds, England

The city of Leeds in West Yorkshire is approx. 200 miles (4+ hours by road) from London. Located in the eastern foothills of the Pennines it is about 20 miles from the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Although within convenient travelling distance of the Pennines and National Park, the centre of Leeds itself is urban. Landmarks include Leeds Town Hall, the Corn Exchange and Leeds City Museum in addition to Leeds Minster and Leeds Cathedral, the 37-storey Sky Plaza, White Rose Centre retail outlet and several sports stadia.

Leeds University (est. 1831) is a founding member of the Russell Group of British research-orientated universities.
