Introduction to the Digestive System of the Human Body

Disaccharides are carbohydrates that consist of two linked monosaccharide units.

The most common disaccharides include:

  • maltose
  • lactose
  • sucrose

(Note that the -suffix "ose" indicates that these are sugars.)
