Podiatry is the branch of health care concerned
with the study, diagnosis and treatment of disorders
of the foot, ankle and lower leg.
Podiatry is sometimes confused with Chiropody.
Chiropody is usually considered to be the routine
care and management (but not necessarily medical
cure/s) of conditions of the feet, including e.g.
care of rough or dry skin, trimming toenails, etc..
Podiatry may involve care and skills that require
more advanced training, including for example -
those necessary to perform foot and ankle surgery.
