What is Orthopaedics ?

Orthopaedics is concerned with correcting deformities caused by disease of or damage (including trauma) to the bones and joints of the skeletal system. This may involve surgery, as well as other techniques e.g. manipulations and traction.

Syndesmology (concerning joints and their components) is a discipline within the area of orthopaedics.
