Malachite is a naturally occurring gemstone that ranges in colour from light to dark green and has a monoclinic crystal structure. Cheminally, it is a minor ore of copper and is therefore not a form of quartz.

Malachite is a very popular crystal and is common among the crystal collections of people interested in energy work, healing, and "New Age" pursuits generally.

Malachite is sometimes associated with:

  • clearing and activating all chakras - especially the heart and the throat chakras
  • goal achievement
